How we work

Start with the decision.
Build the support around it.

The right engagement starts with a shared understanding of the business, its priorities and where finance can make a practical difference.

01

Understand

Discuss the situation, immediate priorities and the decisions facing the leadership team.

02

Agree

Define the scope, responsibilities, deliverables and working cadence in a written engagement.

03

Work together

Put the agreed plan into practice and review progress as the business changes.

Common questions.

How does a fractional CFO engagement work?

The working arrangement is agreed around the business’s priorities. It may combine regular leadership support, management reporting and planning with specific projects. The proposed cadence and responsibilities are defined before work begins.

Can support be focused on a particular project?

A fundraising model, reporting improvement or cash-flow review may be suitable for a focused engagement. Jim can discuss the scope and whether it fits the business’s needs.

Does this replace bookkeeping or tax advice?

CFO support focuses on financial leadership and decisions. Responsibilities should be agreed alongside the existing accounting team and any tax, legal or other specialist advisers.

What does an engagement cost?

Fees depend on the scope, complexity and level of involvement. Contact Jim to discuss a scope and tailored proposal.

Which markets do you serve?

Veridian supports businesses internationally. Discuss your location, time zone, operating markets and any on-site requirements directly with Jim.

What should we prepare for a first conversation?

A short explanation of the business, the decisions ahead and the support you are considering is enough to start. Confidential financial documents do not need to be sent with an initial enquiry.
